LAST LIGHT

(Stuart, in his early 50s, and Helena, in her early 20s, are lying in bed together in a New York hotel room.)

HELENA

C'mon, babe, wake up!

STUART

No, no, it's so delicious....

HELENA

Kiss me! Now...hold me.
(He does, sleepily.)

STUART

Oh god...just another minute.

HELENA

No! Please, get up! Look at me.
(a beat)

STUART

Okay. No, wait, wait, wait.
(He strokes her hair.)

Hello.
(a beat)
Wait. Are you...crying? You are. What's wrong?

HELENA

I'm just so happy. I'm afraid it's going to go away.

STUART

It won't. I promise. Hey, come here.
(They kiss.)
